From your library site you can place a hold on books from other libraries of the UB to be picked up from and returned at the issue desk you select.
The teaching staff of the University of Barcelona can take to the lecture room all required material as an academic loan. This material has to be returned the same day to the library.
- Departments can borrow documents from the
library during the academic year, excluding those items that, for their
frequency of use, number of available copies, and other circumstances,
could disturb the normal functioning of the library.
- Documents can be requested, borrowed and returned any time during the course. On 30 June there will be an annual counting and, if necessary, renewals will be made for the next course.
- Each
department has to appoint two persons responsible for the material on
loan and to communicate it to the head of the corresponding library.
- In the event of loss or damage, the department will assume responsibility as the administrative unit.
- In
case one of these documents were requested by a user, the library has
to inform the person of the department in charge of them in order to
deal with the request within a week. The request can be for a
consultation or for a loan which can be either "renewable or not",
according to the department instructions.
The teaching staff, researchers, students of third cycle, administration and service staff of the University of Barcelona can personally go to any library member of the Consortium of University Libraries of Catalonia and borrow documents, without having to use the interlibrary loan service, but using instead the loan in situ service.
All the users of the Lending service of the libraries of the University of Barcelona are entitled to borrow documents from the Environmental Documentation Centre, located at the Biology Library.
Loans can be made going directly to the Centre or through the Interlibrary Loan Service. To make use of this service it is required to have the identification card Som UB, or for lack of it, the Library card, and not having any fine or overdue items. Two items can be borrowed at a time for 10 days without renewal period.
