In 1996 the Pavelló de la República Library was definitively integrated in UB CRAI and nowadays is considered one of the most important archive and library of the world about the Second Republic, Civil War, exile, Franco Regime and the Transition to democracy.
The document batches come from the collection of the Private Library Josep M. Figueras and the Centre d'Estudis Històrics Internacionals (CEHI) of the University of Barcelona. Since 1996 all the documentation that comes from CRAI is being incorporated in this set.
Concurrently to these issues the Library also has an important collection of Sovietism and international political history of the twentieth century, especially relevant in relation to the Second World War.
And finally, the collection that comes from the old Casa de América de Barcelona, which is an unavoidable referent for any economic study or economic relationships between Spain and America, from the late nineteenth to the first half of twentieth century.
