The library at the Faculty of Library and Information Sciences was set up in 1920, as part of the School of Librarians created in 1915 by the Mancomunitat of Catalonia.  It was the first library devoted to the study of library sciences in Spain. Today it holds the most important works published in the field during the twentieth century, and combines its research archives with the specialist materials needed for the degree courses taught by the Faculty.
